She received her Phd in history of architecture from Istanbul Technical University in 2012. She was a Post-Doctoral Fellow in ANAMED, Koç University in 2014-15 and in the Khalili Research Center, Oxford University in 2017-18. Her research interests include Ottoman sociocultural history in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, identity and architecture, legitimacy and political agenda.
